Replaceable Tips Instead of Heater
Cartridges!
The
PS-800E Soldering System
uses
replaceable heater tips rather
than cartridges, with the cost
being comparable to that of
conventional tips, reducing
long-term cost of
ownership. The
unique two-piece design separates
the induction coil from the actual
heater tip. The long-life induction
coil remains in the handle, while
replaceable heater tips are easily
removed and replaced. Modularity,
true Metcal power and lower cost!

Into Iron Cradle Extends Tip
Life!
Notable is that every
PS-800E
High Performance Solder
System ships out with the
ESD-Safe, "Auto-Sleep" Iron
Cradle / Work-Stand
which extends your tip life
by allowing the iron to
"idle" at a slightly lower
temperature when not in use,
reducing tip oxidation.
Typically, an iron can spend
50% of its time fully
powered, while not "in use".
The "Auto-Sleep" feature
automatically reduces power
to the tip when the iron
rests in the cradle.
Reducing the tips
temperature, while not in
use, the "Auto-Sleep" Cradle
/ Work-Stand helps extend
tip life. And because
the OKi / Metcal begins
surging tis power right back
to the tip the instant that
the iron's removed from the
cradle/work-stand, you can
confidently continue
soldering without down time.
